A Note From Donna, August

Brigade season is such a busy time. It is a wonderful time for us to catch up with our friends and make new ones. We love talking about the mission and all that God has done and is doing. Some of you have been with us through it all: the good and the bad. During brigade season, many of my normal weekly tasks get pushed aside, leading to being behind for a few weeks following the end of brigade season. But that never dampens the joy of having spent time with those of you who come and serve along with us. Seeing what God is doing through your eyes is refreshing. Watching you love the people we love and serve with such energy and joy renews our determination. Years ago, when we first moved here, I would sometimes feel a bit jealous about those who got on the airplane and returned to the comforts of the good ol’ USA. Things have changed completely for me. Now I watch them leave and feel so sad that they must return to their lives in the US, leaving behind the wonders of this country and its people. We consider ourselves to have blessed and rich lives. We truly wouldn’t trade it for all the riches in the world. The challenges are real and daily. I hope you will consider the request in Phil’s article above. We often refer to the challenges in general, but we need to be able to share openly with those who are willing to be our prayer partners. “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” James 5:16
