Job Opportunity: 20 to 40 hours per week

DSD (Direct Store Delivery) Sales Route Representative

Who We Are:

Subida Coffee Company is a wholly owned brand of Mission UpReach, Inc. (MUR) which is a Texas, 501.c.3, faith based, non-profit that operates in the western highlands of Honduras.

All profits from the sale of the coffee go to charity. Specifically, the proceeds go to sustain a program called the Moses Project that provides junior high and high school education to young men that come from poor families. These young men are from families that cannot afford to support their education beyond the sixth grade.

MUR has been working in Honduras for 12 years and began when the Phil and Donna Waldron family, who founded the organization, moved their family there to work with churches in the region. After only a short while of being in country the Waldron’s realized that in addition to churches needing help with their education programs the surrounding communities had substantial needs that no other organization was meeting.

One of the first programs that MUR began in response to a critical need is a public elementary school, values-education-program called DESEO. To date, MUR has had more than 10,000 students receive lessons in this program. They have also developed a school for the deaf which educates illiterate deaf adults. And they host medical groups to do surgeries in a local hospital and to conduct medical clinics in remote villages. To date, more than 80,000 people have received medical consults and medicines free of charge through this program. One of the largest programs they have is the Moses Project which is a 120-acre working farm. This farm has a dormitory where up to 50 young men at a time live and finish their junior high and high school education while also learning about advanced agricultural techniques in coffee production, broiler chicken production, and tilapia production.

Subida Coffee is coffee that is sourced in the region and some of it is cultivated and processed by the young men in the Moses Project program. Emphasis is given to producing the finest coffee possible by first treating the soil, second taking care of the coffee plant and finally in using extreme care in harvesting and processing the coffee. It is then shipped to our warehouse and roasting facility in Memphis, TN. All of our coffee is then roasted to order ensuring that what you receive in your home is as fresh and delicious as possible.
