10 Dec A Note from Donna: December 2018
As many of you probably know, our family experienced a scare with Harrison recently. Due to some medication changes, he went into Status Epilepticus, which has a 20% mortality rate. Because of God’s care and mercy, Harrison came through that experience unharmed. In spite of the risks of that happening again, Harrison has decided to proceed with the medication changes that promise to give him further recovery. He has always been brave, but he has become a true warrior over the past three years. At the same time, we received the good news that he has been accepted at the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago. This is an answer to prayer. We have some challenges ahead, such as insurance refusing to cover his stay, and deciding on the right timing for his inpatient stay in Chicago. Your continued prayers are coveted and greatly appreciated.
Phil and I are more aware today than ever that challenges make us stronger, both emotionally as well as spiritually. Mission UpReach is currently facing one of its greatest challenges in its 10-year history. The investments we have made to move us toward sustainability have come at a great expense, while our year end campaign to date has had less success than any year prior. We ask you to prayerfully consider helping us get through this crisis by donating generously as well as praying. We ask you to pray that God give us wisdom and discernment as we move forward. We fully trust that it is God who has brought about all the great things Mission UpReach has accomplished over the past 10 years, and it is Him who will take us through this storm. We do not doubt that His goal is to bring hope and healing to Honduras. Pray now! Give now! And thank you for all you have done for us!
