10 Jun A Note from Donna – June 2019
This past month I have had the privilege of teaching a weekly workshop for our women on the topic, “Who Am I?” I have felt the weight of responsibility to combine my education, life experiences, and God’s word to bring a message that helps move each woman to a better understanding of herself. The audience is challenging because it includes several illiterate women, 10 deaf women, numerous who have been abused and several who are currently living in very oppressive relationships. The turnout has been amazing, with as many as 70 one week. This workshop is the first of 3 we plan to have this year for the women of our local church and several surrounding congregations. On the home front, we are happy to say that Harrison is doing well after transitioning back home from his 5-week stay in Chicago. A generous friend is donating her deceased daughter’s lift system so that Harrison can continue to make attempts at walking at home. His wife, and perfect soul-mate will graduate from Nursing school this coming August, an amazing feat considering her many responsibilities with Harrison’s care. They celebrated 5 years of marriage on May 31st, a day that we treasure for many, many reasons. Our oldest daughter, Sarah, celebrated 32 years this past month and our youngest, Laura celebrated 22 years. We appreciate your continued to prayers for them as well, that God may protect them and bless them. As always, thank you for your faithful and generous support of us as we live out our calling here in western Honduras.
