30 Sep Meet Ramiro
Ramiro Eduardo Lainez Medina is one of the newest team members at Mission UpReach. Ramiro is blessed to be married to Claudia and together they have a six-year-old son, Josias. Ramiro and Claudia are from Nicaragua where they both graduated from law school. After graduation, they made a decision to attend the Baxter Institute in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where Ramiro obtained a degree in theology. During the final year of the degree program Mission UpReach invited Ramiro and Claudia to intern in Santa Rosa de Copán. Ramiro’s energy and passion for Kingdom work led the local church to offer him a permanent position as an evangelist. Ramiro also works in both of Mission UpReach’s bible training programs, CRESCO and CREO. Claudia is now also employed by MUR as the human resources manager.
Ramiro grew up in a stable home with Christian values. When he was 10 years old, he had a burning desire to know more about God and study the Bible. One of his mother’s co-worker was a member of the Church of Christ and when she heard of his interest in studying the Bible, she invited him to church. That marked the beginning of a long and on-going journey to gain a deeper understanding of God. Ramiro attributes his Christian character and godly values to his early conversion to Christ, as well as the influence of his mother and maternal grandmother.
Ramiro loves any kind of sport, time with his family and playing soccer with his son. His favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” When asked what he would like to say to our supporters, Ramiro said, “First, I would like to thank all of you for the resources you contribute towards God’s work here in western Honduras. May God greatly bless your efforts, your works and your dedication to the Kingdom. I would also like to remind you that your reward will be in heaven for your generosity and your love for the work here. Please continue to support us here at Mission UpReach.” We are grateful for Ramiro and all our staff who share our vision of God’s transformative power at work in Honduras.
