As Phil mentions in his article, the year-end calendar should be in your boxes soon. It is always a pleasure for us to share the stories of lives changed each year. Preparing the calendar each year helps us to reflect and remember all that God has done and is doing here in western Honduras. While we are facing many challenges, we are also encouraged by the ways we see God working. Perhaps we will one day be able to share the “behind the scenes” stories of our journey with the purpose of bringing hope to others who face similar struggles. One of the things we are facing lately is having several very dear friends who are battling cancer. It is difficult to watch the struggle, and we beg God day and night for healing. One such friend is Bobby McVey. Bobby has been the designer of our newsletters, calendars, and any other marketing materials since the beginning of our mission. He has devoted countless hours of his creativity, time, and God-given gifts to Mission UpReach. Would you pray for him? He is undergoing chemotherapy now and for several months to come. We have known Bobby and his family for over 30 years. They have not only been great friends, but exemplary servants, giving his time free of charge to the mission. Would you also pray for our friend Danny Santos? He is a brother here in Honduras who has just received treatment for thyroid cancer, which was quite advanced when it was discovered. Both of these amazing men of God play important roles to our on-going work, and we are pleading their cases before the Lord, perhaps for very selfish reasons. And in closing, I would like to thank you in advance for your contributions to our year-end campaign. We cannot continue to impact lives without your support.
