VCOM Medical Team

As has been the case for several years, the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) returned for another week of service. This year we will have the privilege of hosting them 3 times. When they come, they bring between 30-40 students, along with their preceptors to teach them while they serve. They get the opportunity to examine, diagnose and prescribe the patients. Of course, once they gave completed their assessment, they must defend it with a preceptor (doctor), who then corrects, questions, and finally approves the treatment plan. The students love to come and serve here in western Honduras. It takes very little time to fall in love with the appreciative and kind people they serve. It helps that western Honduras is a beautiful place among God’s creation. We love and appreciate the energy of the young, eager students as well as the ways they enhance our overall service in the community. We look forward to our continued relationship with VCOM in the years to come.
