14 Apr A Note From Donna, March+April ’26
As is clear in Phil’s article, there are often things we are facing and dealing with that from the surface may not be apparent. That’s why your prayers are so important to us. Our pilgrimage towards Heaven has been a bumpy ride, full of potholes, sharp curves, and near death. Some days we feel so weary and ready to throw in the towel. Then we remember that the battle belongs to the Lord, we just need to get out of the way. We often think too highly of our own ability to resolve matters, or we take too much responsibility for matters that we can’t control. Recently I was reading in the book of Habakkuk and in chapter 3:17-19 it says, “Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.” In a world that honors success and wealth, our Father honors faith and trust. Phil and I believe that if our lives were full of success and wealth, we would be tempted to take pride in our work. Instead, we are blessed with waiting on the Lord to do as his promised in Habakkuk 1:5 “For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.” We sincerely want to rejoice in the Lord, no matter what comes. Your continued prayers are needed.
