A Note From Donna, June ’26

A Note From Donna, June ’26

Phil and I had a brief trip to the US in June. Phil’s mother has had some falls, resulting in surgeries and rehab. Additionally, we had the honor and privilege of visiting a long-time friend who is in her last days of life after a long battle with cancer. It was a beautiful time to remember the past and look forward together to what the future holds. What a gift it is to look forward to heaven with full confidence. It was a sacred few hours for us, time we will hold near to our hearts until we meet again. We also had the honor of spending some time with our friend Bobby McVey’s wife, Carrie. Grief is so challenging, as many of you know. For me, getting this newsletter to print has been challenging, not just because Bobby isn’t around to help, but doing so seemed to accept a new reality I wasn’t ready for.

While stateside, Phil had the privilege of preaching at the LaVergne Church of Christ in TN, where I grew up. That congregation is doing a beautiful job of reflecting the community around them. They have numerous races represented, including a thriving Hispanic group. Phil was challenged with preaching in both English and Spanish, simultaneously. He did a fantastic job and blessed the church with a beautiful message from the Word of God. We really enjoy visiting different congregations that partner with us in what God is doing here in western Honduras.

Phil and I were privileged to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary on June 5th.  That same day is also the anniversary of our arrival in Honduras.  We have been blessed to be here in Honduras for 17 years.
